I want to go to New York sometime soon. Experience the statue of liberty, empire state building, ground zero, etc. Here's a list of eateries that are on my list:
Le Bernadin well, it's eric FRIKKING ripert. he's the best chef in america. i'm sure the meal will be well worth the $105+ price tag. i'm prepared to be immersed in a slow tour of flavors.
i want to go to one of the flay restaurants, but that desire may be appeased by a possible visit to mesa grill in vegas? julia, something to think about...
Gray's Papaya anthony bourdain frequents this place for hot dogs. :)
Katz's Deli featured both in "no reservations" and "man v. food" this, i am hoping will be even better than the brisket sandwich i had in montreal from schwartz's deli (what's deli in french?) holy crap, though, for $14+ a sandwich, this better be worth it. i mean, i know you give a lot of meat, but seriously? crap, just looked at schwartz's prices. $5.50 a sandwich. D: just wiki'd schwartz's. it apparently serves "kosher style" food not "kosher" food, which led me to the definition of kosher. shellfish and the mixing of meat and milk are not kosher, which begs the question, can Jewish people not eat fried chicken if it's marinated in buttermilk?
Russ and Daughters for some smoked salmon and new york bagels.
Sugar Sweet Sunshine cupcakes, julia, cupcakes.
somewhere with authentic new york pizza.
Levain Bakery they're supposed to have the "best cookies ever" but to me, they look a little cakey. i'll be the judge, dammit.
Dessert Truck molten chocolate cake and bread pudding out of a truck, nuff said. will have to twitter them if and when i can go to nyc.
Clinton Street Baking Company they have the best pancakes ever? i've been craving pancakes recently...
Other places i want to go to/foods i want to eat:
Falafel's Drive In falafels, gyros, banana shakes, fries. mmmmmmm. in san jose.
Iguana's Burritozilla home of the 5 pound burritozilla, but that's not what i need, haha.
good bbq ribs from somewhere
carne asada fries OOOHHHH! can be completed when my sister attends UCSD. hooray for education.
Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland. sugar overload. wooooot.
Armandino's Salumi in Seattle. Even though I don't really like mario batali and his parents run this place, but i like italian cured meats. :)
El Bulli in Spain. One day, i will have enough money to fly to spain and come here to eat. but i need to know when that day is one year in advance and have plenty of international minutes or phone cards. they're completely booked for 2009 already and they only look out one year in advance. sigh. one day, ferran adria, i will taste your genius and savor all that you present to me.
I've been craving La Burrita tortilla chips. :P' (That's drool.)
Crap, now i'm hungry. >.<

omg everything sounds so good. i rather not pay $105 for a meal though. $5 for a really good hotdog is fine with me. I'd be willing to stand outside and savor my hotdog while I wait for you though. yep, that's the plan. (sherrylam's moving to ny for Colombia soon! we'll have a floor to sleep on. can't wait.)
