scary jobs
i was watching scrubs the other day, and i got to wondering how overwhelming being a doctor or nurse must be. i don't wanna scare anyone heading into it, but for people who want to work in a hospital, caring for long term patients, i find it ______, i dont even know the word for it, that a medical professional can take care of someone until clock out, and then be able to go home and just live their lives. it's completely astonishing to me. you have to depend on someone else to keep the person alive, care for them, know what to do with them. and then, you gotta be able to turn it off at home, not think about work all the time. i mean, with accounting, you stop working, and theres no harm nor foul, but ppl continue to live and breathe! just a scary thought. i'm not saying that doctors and nurses dont work overtime to make sure their patients get the care that's needed, but well, can you really log OT all the time? sigh. i'm just glad that other people can do it, cause i know i dont have the ability to cope. :/
